Umair Ahmed led the implementation of an IFRS 9 Model Risk Governance solution at KasiKorn Bank, one of Thailand’s leading commercial banks. The engagement covered the full delivery lifecycle — from business requirements and functional design through to regulatory advisory and the configuration of custom governance workflows within the SAS MRM platform. Umair Ahmed led the project as the primary client-facing lead, bringing together model governance expertise and hands-on implementation delivery.

Engagement Overview

KasiKorn Bank required a robust governance framework and supporting technology platform to manage its IFRS 9 models — covering expected credit loss (ECL) calculations and related risk models subject to both regulatory scrutiny and internal oversight. The SAS MRM platform was selected as the solution foundation. Umair Ahmed lead the implementation, providing both governance advisory and technical delivery and training across the project.
